Tuesday

It’s Tuesday, so we thought we’d see what was floating out there around the Internet music universe and attempt to capture the spirit of this second day of the work week.

There’s an idea here at SeeqPod that search can be more powerful – and, when this is applied to music one can create a soundtrack to accompany nearly any theme or topic.

After a quick shout out to the team, “Ruby Tuesday” by the Rolling Stones was the only “Tuesday” song we could come up with on the spot. So the search began. Entering “Tuesday” into the search field resulted in 968 tracks (not to mention the six or so different versions of “Ruby Tuesday” that turned up).

The first track?

An upbeat, poppy acoustic number by RJ Jimenez called “Miss Kita Pag Tuesday.” The lyrics sound celebratory in Tagalog, but then comes the English verse: “Tuesday – I hate this day, oh Tuesday – I hate this day…” Hmmm…

Films and soundtracks to our lives aside, what about making a soundtrack for a book or a website? Or, perhaps even more mundane, for a day of the week? SeeqPod hopes to one day automatically generate playlists based on a photo or a block of text, but in the meantime it’s interesting to enter single words or phrases into the search field and see what far-ranging and unexpected results turn up.
